Beautiful Blue Maxi Dress

Today's post + giveaway are sponsored by PinkBlush. As always, all opinions are my own. #ShopPinkBlush #PinkBlush

I have long loved the look of a maxi dress, but I've struggled to find a maxi dress I loved the look of on me.  It seems that they all fit awkward and just weren't suited to my body type.  Until I was browsing on PinkBlush Boutique and found this one.  It was love at first sight.

All-American OOTD for the 4th of July

This post contains affiliate links.  The tee was provided to me by Kentucky Brewed Tees, but all opinions are my own (as always).

I love a good themed outfit, and the Fourth of July is one of the best holidays for one!  Red, white, and blue is just a striking color combo together, and it pairs really well together in outfits.  This Kentucky Brewed Tees shirt is the perfect patriotic wear for any Kentuckian to wear to celebrate the Fourth!

High Five for Friday 06.24.16: Father's Day + Flamingos

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della Devoted, Katie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Michelle from Grammie Time, a lifestyle blog.  Michelle is a great blogging buddy of mine:)  She's a transitional kindergarten teacher and loves a good bottle of wine. Michelle hosts the Party at My Place linkup every Thursday--this week's post has tons of great features for summer goodness. I love her recent summer reading tips for preschoolers too.

This week has been wild. I woke up last Friday morning feeling like I'd been hit by a bus.  Turns out I have mono again!  At least it had the decency to wait until I got back from vacation to rear its ugly head. Ugh.  Not a highlight of this week, but there were plenty of goodness, so let's recap those highlights this week:

1.  I love coming home from vacation to all the mail that's waiting on you.  These Tory Burch espadrilles were a Poshmark find.  They're like new and I think I paid $65 after using $10 worth of credits.  If you haven't checked out Poshmark yet, download the app and use my referral code for a $5 credit:)  The Marc Jacobs Beauty Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator was sent to me to try by Influenster, and I'm in love!  It's a neutral shade with a great formula that blends smoothly.  The shape makes it easy to apply straight from the stick too. It's my new favorite highlighter!  And finally, this beautiful flamingo dress retails for $88, but I snagged it during a sample sell on the T&J Designs Instagram feed for $40!!!

Crochet Lace Dress for Special Occasions

Last Monday was mine and Chauncey's seven year wedding anniversary.  Before we left on our trip, I was looking for something special to wear when I came across this dress at Versona.  I knew it would be perfect for our anniversary dinner in Charleston.

Last week, Chauncey and I went on an anniversary trip to Charleston, South Carolina.  It is one of our all-time favorite places.  We stayed on Folly Beach (see more about that here).  I'll be sharing more details about our trip over the next several weeks, and I shot a bunch of outfits while we were there.  This tangerine t-shirt dress as the first one.

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della Devoted, Katie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the link-up and the weekend. We made it!

Today's featured blogger is Kate from The Neat Nook, a lifestyle blog.  Kate is a part-time creative consultant and mom.  She has some awesome camping hacks, and I love her post on Flag Day etiquette--bookmarking both!

I just got back from vacation late last night, so I'm exhausted! It's been an awesome week, so let's recap the highlights:

1. Kane's birthday party was back home on Saturday.  He went non-stop, and LOVED his new dinosaur bicycle!

2. Chauncey and I left for vacation the next morning.  We stayed at Tides Folly Beach just outside of Charleston.  I loved that they were proudly flying the flag, showing unity with Orlando.

High Five for Friday 06.10.16: Kane's 3rd Birthday

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della Devoted, Katie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Jessica from Life. Love. Reality, a lifestyle blog.  Jessica works full-time and is also mom to two little girls. She has a fun post about her summer bucket list, and her birthday party favorites post is such a sweet look-back.

Guys, sorry it's been a little bit quiet in these parts, but it's been such a busy, hectic week.  Sometimes you just have to roll with it.  That said, I have lots of blog reading and commenting to catch up on this weekend.

Now. let's recap this week's highlights:

1. It was Kane's 3rd birthday this week!  We started off the celebration with Good Dinosaur cupcakes at daycare.  All the kids loved them.  Kane took his to the Braveheart level with the icing.haha

2. We took him out for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Kane seemed a little embarrassed when they came out to sing to him, but he loved blowing out the candle on his cheesecake!

3. Then we headed home to open gifts.  He loved them--an Imaginext Megazord, a dinosaur backpack, and some more dinosaur toys.

4. I went to the SOAR Innovation Summit this week.  SOAR is an organization dedicated to revitalizing eastern Kentucky. It is amazing seeing what solutions are already been implemented, and I'm so excited for what's to come! I'm so thankful to work for a place that is a proud supporter of SOAR and eastern Kentucky!

5. My favorite outfit from the week. The skirt was an Old Navy clearance find for like $4.50!

ICYMI, here's this week's posts:

(I tried out 8 products from this popular brand)

(all are easy and affordable!)

I've shared a lot of summer trends on the blog lately, so I thought I'd round up six of my favorite trends I've shared lately that you should try this summer.  You will also notice that I keep recycling clothes and accessories throughout these six posts to create new looks with the same pieces.

E.L.F. Cosmetics: Hits + Misses

This post contains affiliate links.

I've heard so much about the e.l.f. Cosmetics brand over the past couple of years.  I've heard everyone rave about them, especially since they're extremely cheap but supposedly very good products.  So of course I had to try them.  After thoroughly trying out quite a few of their products over the past couple of months, I wanted to share my assessment of the products based on whether they're a hit or a miss. My analysis takes into account the quality of the product in conjunction with the price.

High Five for Friday 06.03.16: Memorial Day Weekend

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della Devoted, Katie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Brittney from Off the Vine, a mommy/lifestyle blog. Brittney is a SAHM to her two girls. She spoke the truth in her post about 11 things she didn't expect during labor. And she has a very insightful post about one very important question to ask before homeschooling.

Now let's recap this week's highlights:

1. Kane and I headed to eastern Kentucky for a couple of days over Memorial Day weekend.  We took my mother-in-law out for a late birthday dinner with my mom at Pig in a Poke. I also got to see one of my best friends from high school and hang out with her family for a little bit. It was nice and relaxing.

2. When I got back to town on Sunday, I went to meet Mariah from Faith & Fashion for ice cream at Sav's Chill. The ice cream was yummy as usually--I got coconut ice cream and chocolate hazelnut gelato.  She had her baby with her, and let me tell you, he's so handsome!
