Beach Day Outfit

The beach is my happy place. One of my favorite things to do is to read a book while listening to the waves lap the shore. Chauncey and I always hit up Folly Beach.

DETAILS: Tee //  Shorts // Swimsuit (similar, similar) // Beach bag (similar) // Sunglasses // Flipflops // Earrings via Rocksbox--try it for free your 1st month w/ code BRIGHTONABUDGETXOXO

This outfit is perfect for a relaxing day at the beach.  The oversized tee functions great as a swimsuit coverup (I'm wearing a medium)--I always try to wear double-duty pieces like that. My ripped denim shorts play up the kicked-back vibe, and I did a front-tuck with the shirt because it was so flowy.  Underneath, I'm wearing a teal scalloped swimsuit from Old Navy.  Scalloped suits are a top swimsuit trend this year, and I'm loving the feminine details!

Accessory wise, I kept it simple.  I always have a big pair of sunglasses.  These have a slightly retro vibe and are so fun.  I like to do a small pair of earrings too. I'm just not the type to pile on a bunch of big jewelry to lay in the sun, though. Of course I had to carry my Lilly for Target beach bag like a trophy. While it's from last year, I linked a fun one with tassels above.  And if you've not tried Reef flipflops yet, do your feet a favor and try a pair! They're very comfortable to walk around in.

What do you like to wear for a day at the beach?
