Lilly Pulitzer Essie Dress for Fall

This post contains affiliate links.

Did anyone else shop the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale last week? I did, and I was able to get most of the items that were on my list!!! One of the items I was shopping for is this Lilly Pulitzer Essie dress in Minty Fresh Fansea (I also got a tee in the print). I found it for just under $40, plus an extra 10% off, on 6pm.com. Sadly, this dress is back up to normal pricing of $98, but I linked it below just in case you decided you couldn't live without it. You can still find some Lilly items for sale on 6pm.com.

High Five for Friday 08.26.16: Relaxation + Awesome Sales

This post contains affiliate links.

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della DevotedKatie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the High Five for Friday link-up and the weekend. We made it!

FYI: this week I needed to step back a little and take a little me time. I curled up in bed with a good book most nights. I'll be catching up on blog reading and commenting this weekend:)

This week's featured blog is Legally Southern, a lifestyle blog. She went to law school at UK Law, like me:)  She's a coffee drinker and has a cute Etsy shop.

Now, let's recap this week's highlights:

1.  I was home in eastern Kentucky this past weekend, and it was nice. On Saturday, I shot blog pictures with Della. Following that, I took a three-hour (yes, a three-hour) nap and then went out to eat at Pig in a Poke with Kane, my mom, my mother-in-law, and my future sister-in-law. It was such a great, relaxing day!

5 Reasons Why I Use Rocksbox

This post contains affiliate links.

I've been using Rocksbox for about six months now. During that time, I've had thirteen Rocksbox boxes with 36 pieces of jewelry, and purchased eight pieces of jewelry from my boxes.  Rocksbox is like a jewelry rental service--you get three pieces of jewelry in each box. You can purchase anything you like, or send back what you don't like and get a new Rocksbox (read more about it here). I've really been pleased with the services, so I thought I'd share five reasons why I use the Rocksbox monthly subscription service. You can try out your first month of Rocksbox for FREE when you use code BRIGHTONABUDGETXOXO.

Wear It Now: Floral Midi Skirt

This post contains affiliate links.

When I saw this skirt on the clearance rack at Target, it immediately caught my eye. The bold print and colors make it a perfect piece to wear now, and then wear later this fall.  It's part of the Who What Wear collection of work pieces for Target.

High Five for Friday 08.19.16: Events + Vacation Planning

This post contains affiliate links.

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della DevotedKatie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the High Five for Friday link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Mary from Trust Without Borders, a lifestyle blog about life, motherhood, and living. Mary's husband has cancer, so she also blogs about his health as well (please say a prayer for him). Very inspirational.  I love this look at her parenting style, and her recent testimonial about God answering prayers.

Now, let's recap this week:

1. Kane and I ran errands on Saturday that ended with a trip to the Cheesecake Factory. The girls that waited on us were so sweet, and gave Kane a graham cracker with whip cream and sprinkles that he ate while we waited. The whip cream from there is his favorite, so he was in heaven. And I also got a lot accomplished! I returned a whole bag of makeup to Ulta that I had tried out but didn't really like, and walked away with a $60 giftcard:)

2. I hosted two styling events this weekend with Sarah from Space, Place, and Southern Grace at Clothes Mentor and Plato's Closet in Lexington. It's always fun to help people shop!

3. Yesterday, I had lunch with Erinn from Lexington Lettering and dinner with Kirstie of The Southern Pearl blog. Ooo, and I won a necklace from Kirstie's recent giveaway that she delivered to me!!! It's UK blue and perfect for football season!

4. I'm so excited! My tickets for Moontower came in--thanks for sending them my way, guys! I can't wait to go to the festival next weekend. You can get tickets here.

5. We got more vacation planning done for next month, including reservations to T. Rex Cafe in Orlando! Kane is going to love it!  Our Disney vacation planner is awesome, and totally free. Check her out here.

DIY Marble Desk Top

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #PilotYourLife #CollectiveBias

Chauncey bought me a black desk when we moved into our house last year.  I loved the size of it and that it had desk drawers, but it was just so plain. So I decided to do a desk hack to change things up and do a DIY marble desk top! Marble is so in right now, but it is expensive. I'm sharing an easy DIY that can be done for around $30!

How to Apply a Matte Lipstick

This post and giveaway are sponsored by Belinda Lester, a Perfectly Posh consultant. All opinions are my own, as always. This post also contains affiliate links.

A matte lipstick is probably the trickiest lipstick to wear because it can show any imperfections while also drying your lip out. The secret to an awesome matte lipstick application is all in how your prep your lips beforehand.

The Perfect Pair: Lilly Pulitzer + J. Crew

This post contains affiliate links.

I'm finally posting the last outfit from our anniversary getaway to Folly Beach/Charleston, SC. We had such a fantastic trip, and these shots were taken on our last morning there before we headed home. I always hate to leave the beach, but happy outfits and the promise of a return trip make leaving a little easier.

High Five for Friday 08.05.16: Dinosaurs + Harry Potter

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della DevotedKatie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the High Five for Friday link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Jean Claire from Vogue Happiness, an inspirational lifestyle blog. Jean Claire is from Mississippi. She had some great insight in her post about what to say to a hurting friend. She also has an easy recipe for cucumber tomato salad.

Now, let's recap this week's highlights:

1. HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD [insert squeal]!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Ok, I was totally prepared to hate this book since it was in play form, but I absolutely loved it!  It totally transported me back to my childhood and has me looking forward to Harry Potter World next month. Has anyone else read it? If so, what did you think? [WARNING: if you haven't read the book and plan on doing so, don't read the comments below just in case of spoilers!]

How to Create a Gallery Wall

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CreateWithHP #CollectiveBias

We moved into our home last year, and ever since, I've wanted to do a gallery wall above my desk in my bedroom. I kept putting it off, though, because I thought it would be too hard.  This weekend, thought, I decided to just go for it.  And guess what? It was easier than I thought!
