TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Caitlin at Coffee with CaitlinDella at Della Devoted, Katie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the link-up and the weekend.  We made it!

Today is Bring a Friend to H54F Day! Have a blogging friend that isn’t currently linking up at H54F? If you have a friend linking up with H54F for the first time, be sure to introduce them in your H54F post. We get to all meet some new bloggers, and who doesn’t like that?

This week's featured blogger is Penny from Penny's Passion, a lifestyle blog. Penny is an administrative assistant that works in St. Louis who likes attending events, hanging with friends, cooking, and crafting. She's always sharing recipes, like this one for crab rangoon and this one for naughty brownies.  She also recently shared some book reviews.

Now, let's recap this week's highlights:

1. As you all probably know, I'm a brand rep for Kentucky Brewed Tees because I love their stuff!  Well, they recently started a new venture called Darlin' South and I'm just as much in love with it.  I arrived home on Friday to the cutest box of goodies from Darlin' South.  You can check out some of my favorite items from their launch here.

Striped Tee and Red Pants for Spring

This post contains affiliate links.  The necklace in this post was a gift from Darling South, but all opinions are my own, as usual.

Umm, is anyone else ready for spring, or is it just me? No? I thought so!  I recently picked up some new clothes during Old Navy's recent Super Cash promo, and I couldn't wait to wear them.  Last Saturday was such a gorgeous day, so I shed the layers and brought the new clothes out to play.

I decided to film a video for my recent makeup haul from Ulta of NYX and L'Oreal products. Warning, the video is a little out-of-focus--I'm still figuring this whole filming thing out, so please bear with me as I'm learning. If you like the video, be sure to give it a thumbs up, and I'd love it if you'd also subscribe to my Youtube channel!

I always have an eye out for the red clearance tag at Target, because you never know what you're going to find marked-down.  I've had my eye on this navy velvet tassel clutch since Thanksgiving, but the cheapest I could find it for was around $16-17. . .so I waited.  And my waiting paid off.  I discovered it on clearance for less than $8!!!  I also found this cute thank you cards in Bulleye's Playground for $1.  The coral color makes them perfect for spring!

Wardrobe Staple : Skinny Black Pants

This post contains affiliate links.

My #1 wardrobe staple is a pair of skinny black pants.  Why? Because you can take them from super dressy to super casual and back again.  They're one of, if not the, most versatile pieces you can have in your closet.  Skinny black pants are a classic choice, and you'll always look more "put-together" when you toss on a pair.

Now let's recap this week's highlights::

1. A couple of my friends, including Whitney of Come Home for Comfort, hooked me up with some Old Navy Super Cash.  I used it to purchase 2 pairs of pants I had been wanting, along with a black and white striped tee, a tee for Chauncey, a pair of earrings, and a pair of super-clearanced shoes for $1.97!  Now that, my friends, is bright on a budget;) I also picked up some super affordable jewelry from Walmart.  Walmart has been killing their jewelry game for the past year and a half. Valentine's Day Gift Guide for Her

This post contains affiliate links.
Valentine's Day is quickly approaching. I know some people have trouble thinking of gift ideas, so I wanted to share some of my favorite affordable gifts for her.  Also, be sure to check shipping options to make sure your gift will arrive on time.

From top left:

Extendable Bracelet Bar ($24.99, Target)
I'm on a never-ending mission to organize my jewelry.  I saw this bracelet bar at my local Target and it immediately went on my to be purchased list for that purpose.  It's a pretty way to keep your arm party pieces on display. If you're shopping for an accessories hoarder, then this would be the perfect gift.

These earrings are from one of my favorite jewelry designers, Kendra Scott. I love a silver and gold mix in jewelry, and these little drusy studs do it adorable! Also, Amazon states that this item has FREE one-day shipping right now.

Charlotte Tilbury Makeup Bag ($20, Nordstrom)
For the makeup-obsessed, one can never have too many makeup bags, especially when they're as cute as this. The lip motif is a great theme for Valentine's Day.  This would be especially cool with some NYX lip products stuck down in it.

This is the 1st of 4 Kate Spade items on this list (can you tell Kate Spade is a fav of mine???).  What I like about these earrings is that they are very festive but can be worn all year round.  I personally love the red and white color combo, but these also come in an all-white option.

Float Collage Picture Frame with Knobs ($33.25 on sale, Target)
Y'all, I can see this hanging by my front door!  It's 20"L x 17"W, and the knobs will easily hold a lightweight jacket, purse, and/or keys. The sentiment "Family makes a house a home" is so true, and I love the weathered gray frame. Want bonus points? Add pictures before giving the gift for a very sentimental touch.

Kate Spade Daycation Neda Wallet ($49, Kate Spade Surprise Sale)
Warning: this item is part of the Kate Spade Surprise Sale, which ends Thursday Feb. 11 at 11:59 PM PT.
Dear Chauncey, if you're reading this, take note.  This may be my favorite item on the list!  Kate Spade bows always get my stamp of approval, and this color scheme is perfect for summer and spring.  Black and white with a pop of pink? Yes, please!

Gorjana Aida Bangle ($43.50 on sale, Bloomingdale's)
I actually got this tiny cuff in my latest Rocksbox, and I fell in love.  This is such a dainty bangle, and it will go with almost anything.  The touch of sparkle is just enough.  It's great for people who love to wear an arm party and great for those who don't.

Kate Spade Charlotte Street Alek ($79, Kate Spade Surprise Sale)
Warning: this item is part of the Kate Spade Surprise Sale, which ends Thursday Feb. 11 at 11:59 PM PT.
Everyone needs a good crossbody bag in their collection!  I love the springy colors in this bag, and the chain detail is darling.  As someone with a huge smartphone, I love a bag that can fit more than just my phone in it, and this one is a great size to throw several items in.

Kate Spade Cove Street Provence Bag ($149, Kate Spade Surprise Sale)
Warning: this item is part of the Kate Spade Surprise Sale, which ends Thursday Feb. 11 at 11:59 PM PT.
I love this bag! I love the buckle detail on this bag.  It's versatile in that it can be worn either over-the-shoulder or over your wrist.  My favorite thing about it, thought, is the sectioning on the inside of the bag that will allow you to keep organized.

Also, if you are buying for someone from Kentucky, this Shop Local Gift Guide I pulled together at Christmas will work just as well for Valentine's Day!!!

Good luck shopping!  And don't forget that Thursday (02/11) is our next H54F Google Hangout at 9:30 PM EST! Details will be up on Thursday!

Casual Valentine's Day Outfit

This post contains affiliate links.
Chauncey and I usually keep Valentine's Day fairly casual--we have dinner at Ted's Montana Grill because we can make reservations and they don't have a set menu, which is key for a picky eater like myself (Chauncey is the exact opposite).  Then we usually head to a movie afterwards.  So I like to keep my outfit casual as well.  Della from Della Devoted and I teamed up this weekend to bring you two cute, casual looks for Valentine's Day.  Be sure to stop by and check out her outfit as well!

Here, I've paired a darling polka dot button-up with a red sweater.  The basketweave sweaters from Kohl's are probably my favorite go-to sweater, and they're very affordable.  And nothing says Valentine's Day like red + pink together, so I made sure to mix in a healthy dose of pink.

1. Friday night, I bought my first pair of Uggs.  Dillard's was having an extra 30% off clearance, and I was actually look for some hot pink heels that were 3" tall or less, but I struck out:(  I found these beauties right before the store closed for a total of 47% off ($53).  I'd had my eye on them for several months, so I was really excited!

Cold Weather Colorful

This post contains affiliate links.

Ok, guys, I'm really excited!  Why? Because I've wrestled with getting my pictures to fully fit the size of the post and I just figured it out.  Yay!

We got quite a bit of snow last weekend from our pal Jonas--around 10-12".  I thought it was the perfect time to whip out my new coat from J. Crew Factory. I had been stalking this coat for several months (because that's how I roll) and it finally hit the price point that I would pay! Bright on a Budget win!!!  FYI--I linked the coat below, but do not purchase it as the current price unless you're afraid it will sell out in your size.  Wait patiently and watch the J. Crew website, because it's been cycling through sales.  I've seen it listed for $114, and I've seen other colors as low as $56.99 when they had an extra 50% off clearance.

Since this is a coat that speaks for itself, I paired it with all-black clothes but played up the color palette through colors that went nicely with the coat.  Now, I would call the color of the coat aqua, but J. Crew has it listed as turquoise. Whatevs, I love it.

The zipper makes this coat so convenient, too.  I mean, who wants to take time to fool with buttons when it's freezing cold?  Not me.

I adore this year's Pantone Colors of the Year--rose quartz and serenity.  I brought them into play with this outfit in the earrings and necklace.  My necklace is a piece from Rocksbox that I just couldn't send back in, so I kept it.  You can find out more about Rocksbox here, and see below for a special promo code to get 1 month FREE in case you want to try it out!

Bangles: c/o Forever Lasered Memories

And let's chat about these awesome Kentucky bangles for a minute (or about what a HOT MESS my hair is.haha).  Cassie from Forever Lasered Memories reached out to me a couple of weeks ago about these Kentucky bangles, and I'm so glad she did!  Wire bangles + cute Kentucky cutouts = love. Both styles of this bracelet come in several different colors, including blue, pink, red, and tortoiseshell. Cassie and her husband make everything in house, and I was impressed with the quality of the bangles.  For my Kentucky girls, head on over to Instagram around 10 am today--I'm posting a giveaway for BOTH bangles! PS, there's no limit to the number of cool, personalized items they can make, so head over and check out their website!
