This post contains affiliate links.

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della DevotedKatie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the High Five for Friday link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Danielle from A Sprinkle of Joy. I really enjoyed her aspiring post about what to do when you don't feel good enough. She co-hosts the Idea Box linkup every Thursday. Danielle also has an Etsy shop with some cute baby and toddler items!

Now let's recap this week's highlights, but first, don't forget to enter the giveaway for a $40 Target giftcard here:

1. #Nsale purchases have begun to roll in--I'm only waiting on one package now. I'm loving this tote in the dusty blue color, as both the material and color are big for fall! It's on sale for just $31.90. Sadly, both the wallet and makeup are sold out.  Stay tuned on Instagram, though, because I'm actually giving away the wallet and a Kendra Scott abalone shell necklace next week with some wonderful friends!

Brights with White

This post contains affiliate links. And don't forget to enter the giveaway for the $40 Target giftcard at the end of this post!

Since it's Thursday, I'm throwing it back to last month's vacation at the beach again. These pictures were taken in downtown Charleston right before we ate at a little tavern called The Griffon. Afterwards, we went on a historical walking tour with Bulldog Tours.  Since we were going to be doing lots of walking in hot, humid weather, I wanted something that was cool.  Also, my hair rarely sees anything heat-related on vacation other than the sun and a blowdryer, hence the wild beach hair:) You can read more about downtown Charleston, South Carolina in this post from a previous trip.

Why I Went to Law School

You probably already know this, but in case you're new around here, I'm an attorney. Now, I'm more so on the Legally Blonde scale and totally not on the My Cousin Vinny scale, but I'm an attorney nonetheless.  I work as corporate counsel for a large family of companies.  It's my dream job, and a perfect fit for me.  I've been through more years of school than I care to count.  Going to law school is a tough decision to make.  It's hard to get in, and even harder to get through.  So why did I go to law school?

Flirty Flamingo Dress

This post contains affiliate links.

Flamingos seem to be the theme of the summer, and I whole-heartedly support the flamingo movement.  Seriously, what's not to love? They're cute, pink, and happy!  I'd had my eye on this dress for quite a while, so when it went on flash sale on the T+J Designs Instagram page, I bought it! A quick tip for your favorite shops that are on Instagram--set up push notifications for that page so that you always get notified when big sales happen, but limit it to your top 5 favorite shops so as not to get overwhelmed!

High Five for Friday 07.22.16: Stranger Things + Sugar Cookie Batter

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della Devoted, Katie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the High Five for Friday link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Heather from My Glittery Heart.  I love love love her new book bag nook featuring shiplap! She just started co-hosting the Recipe Club linkup, which takes place on the third Wednesday of every month. Be sure to check out her Etsy shop featuring the most adorable mugs and glasses

Now let's recap this week's highlights:

1. Friday night was my styling workshop out at Francesca's, which was fun. I came away with some cute dinosaur earrings myself. Then I met my friend Sheila for dinner afterwards at Palmer's Fresh Grill. We were seated out on the patio when it started to rain, but the law students sitting next to us put up their table's umbrella and invited us to sit with them. It was a fun dinner! I totally recommend having dinner with strangers at least once in your life! Ok, except one of them was not a total stranger--by the end of dinner, we established that one used to work with Sheila but it was okay, because she didn't fire him.haha

2. We went to a birthday party for a close family friend.  Kane had a blast playing outside, and it was nice to catch-up with everyone!

3. If you haven't watched Stranger Things on Netflix yet, I need you to stop reading this blog post and go start the series! I'm not a fan of anything scary, but this was so good!  It's Netflix's latest original series and it's set in the 80s. Make time for it because trust me, you're going to binge-watch all 8 episodes. You're welcome.

4. We had Cold Stone Creamery after dinner one night this week, and they have a new flavor called Sugar Cookie Batter. It was delicious with sprinkles mixed in!

5. After dinner last night, we went to Target.  I had an amazing haul, which you can see on Snapchat (add me: brightonabudget). And add Katie too (ktcupoftea). FYI, use the cartwheel app to take an extra 20% off of clearance clothes, shoes, and accessories!!! Kane found this dinosaur flashcards for $1!  It blows my mind how many dinosaurs Kane can identify!

ICYMI, here's this week's posts:

Rainbow Row Outfit

This post contains affiliate links.

This outfit was snapped on our anniversary trip to Charleston, South Carolina last month. It was our last night in town.  We were just running around, fitting in the last minute things we wanted to do before we left.  In addition to some shopping on Kings Street, we stopped by Rainbow Row to gaze at the Easter egg-colored Georgian row houses. Coincidentally, I matched the houses to perfection.

Fixing Fashion Emergencies On the Go

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #WardrobeSolutions #CollectiveBias

There's nothing worse than showing up to a big event--be it a job interview, a big meeting, or a swanky event--and having a wardrobe malfunction. This recently happened to me when I was going to a friend's wedding.  The strap on my wedges broke as I was walking into the event location! Luckily, I had an extra pair of shoes in my car, but that doesn't always happen.  So I've put together a Fashion Emergencies Kit that can be left in my car to fix fashion emergencies on the go.

Now let's recap this week's highlights:

1. Last Friday night I hosted a styling workshop at White House Black Market's Lexington Green location about How to Dress for Your Body Shape. It was so fun, and H54F regular Sheryl from How to Make a Life was there! The other styling workshop is TONIGHT, at 5:30 p.m. at Francesca's Lexington Green location.  Hope to see you there! It's the perfect time for a class on how to accessorize since Francesca's has BOGO 50% on jewelry!

Bright Floral Skirt

This post contains affiliate links. The bangles and giveaway are c/o KCK Bangles, but all opinions are my own, as always.

I've had my eye on this skirt for months (seriously, since early spring) and I finally nabbed it on clearance at J. Crew Factory while I was on vacation.  It's such a lovely print with the mix of yellow and mint.  The length is great for transitioning from the office to a night out, too!

Tips for Taking Outdoor Pictures This Summer

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #FreeToBe #CollectiveBias

Kane recently celebrated his third birthday. I don't know where all the years go, but they sure do pass by quickly.  He's at the age where he loves to play outside and get dirty.  So we met up with our favorite local photographer to take his third year pictures at the park.

High Five for Friday 07.01.16: Sale Scores + a Concert

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della Devoted, Katie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the High Five for Friday link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Kristina from The Kontemporary, a fashion and style blog. I love her post on Chicago and five things to do while you're there.

Now let's recap this week's highlights:

1. Chauncey and I went to a Jason Isbell concert on Friday night at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, Kentucky.  Yes, we had a date night!  The concert was awesome.  I had a toothache through it (and most of the rest of the weekend), though, so that was a little distracting.  I feel like turning 30 in a few months in causing my body to fall apart.  As of right now, I've avoided a root canal, but it still could happen.
