High Five for Friday 09.30.16: Events and LipSense

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della DevotedKatie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the High Five for Friday link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Tanya from Prairie Girl in the Big Scary World, a lifestyle blog. Tanya is from Saskatchewan, but lives in Florida and travels alot. I love this fun post about her recent trip to a butterfly garden. And she has this delicious looking recipe for a Reese's ice cream cake!

Now let's recap this week's highlights:

1. Last weekend was very chill as we were recovering from vacation before going back to work.  I laid around and read books all weekend. We also went out to grab a bite to eat at Chuy's.  It was a nice end to our vacation week.

Dark Floral Print Dress

This post contains affiliate links.

Fall has arrived in Kentucky. I repeat--fall has arrived in Kentucky, y'all! I've so excited to finally break out the fall outfits.  One huge trend for fall is dark floral prints.  Dark floral prints are so moody and romantic.  They transition well, going from the office to date night and everything in-between.

POPSUGAR Must Have Box for September

POPSUGAR sent me this Must Have Box to try. As usual, all opinions are my own.

I was so excited to come home from vacation to find September's POPSUGAR Must Have Box waiting for me! I've been a fan of curated boxes for a while now--it's so fun to get to try new items out that you may not know about or may not necessarily have picked out for yourself. Unlike some other boxes, all items are in the Must Have Box full-sized for maximum awesomeness. It's also a great value, as you get over $100 worth of product in each box for just $39.95 per month--and you can actually get $5 off your first POPSUGAR Must Have Box with promo code SHOP5.

The Perfect Navy Pants for Fall

This post contains affiliate links.

Coming back home from vacation is bittersweet. I'm always so happy to be home but so sad to leave, especially when we're at the beach. I wore this look out to dinner at Frenchy's Rockaway Grill while we were in Clearwater, but I didn't get to take any pictures that night. So I snapped these the next morning, on the very first day of fall, before we left the Sandpearl Resort to come home (oh, the blogger life) because this outfit was too cute not to share.  Being at the beach was an interesting way to spend the last day of summer and bring in the first day of fall.

High Five for Friday 09.23.16 : Disney World, Harry Potter, and the Beach

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della DevotedKatie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the High Five for Friday link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Lindsey from Brushing Our Way Through Life.  Lindsey graduated from cosmetology school and is mommy to one with one on the way. Her husband is in dental school--the professional school spouse life is different for sure (as someone who has been on the opposite end).  I love her recent beauty favorites, and she did this awesome post about a month of crockpot dinners.

5 Trends to Try This Fall

This post contains affiliate links.

Today's guest post comes to you from a fellow attorney and fashion blogger named Brittany from Lawyer Lookbook. Brittany always has the best work wear looks!  You'll never dread dressing ul again if you follow her style advice!

Hi, everyone, my name is Brittany!  I am from Nashville, and am the writer behind the blog, Lawyer Lookbook.  I am so excited and honored to guest post today on Bright on a Budget! A little about me: I am an attorney and have practiced law for nearly 3 years now, and was recently elected to serve as Town Court Clerk for my small town (right outside of Nashville), where I oversee the day-to-day operations in the Clerk's Office for 3 different courts- general sessions criminal, traffic and juvenile traffic court.  Fall is my favorite season, and I am excited to share five trends to try this fall!

1. Chunky Sweater
A quality chunky sweater is a major fall must-have.  I love layering chunky sweaters over basic button-downs to create a sophisticated casual look that will keep me warm in the cooler temps.

1. Kane and I headed back home on Friday morning since I had some meetings there. I had lunch at Miss Ida's Tea Room with my friend Amy who I hadn't seen in forever. And I just chilled. I also read all three Harry Potter short stories that were recently released. My mom was off work this week, so Kane stayed in eastern Kentucky with his grandparents while I headed back to Lex on Saturday night.

Favorite Print for Fall--Buffalo Plaid

This post contains affiliate links. Additionally, my dress is c/o Gray Monroe, but, as usual, all opinions are my own.

When it comes to fall, and even winter, my all-time favorite print is buffalo plaid! All year long, I look forward to breaking out the buffalo plaid. And even when I think I have enough buffalo plaid, I find another pieces I have to have like this buffalo plaid shirtdress from Gray Monroe. Becky from BYBMG and I have teamed up today to bring you two takes on plaid shirtdresses for fall!

Pumpkin Spice Dress

Thanks to Versona Accessories for sponsoring this post.  As always, all opinions are my own.

I stopped by Versona this weekend to check out their new fall line, and seeing everything has made me so excited for fall fashion! They had a ton of rich, fall colors, along with perfect plaids and prints for fall. And the amount of accessories they have is amazing--I'm loving the statement jewelry and booties they currently have. Versona is actually one of my favorite stores to shop at--you may remember the blue lace dress I wore for mine and Chauncey's anniversary this year. I always try to stop by when I'm looking for something special occasion-wise or for a finishing touch. It's always so hard to decide what to buy because I want it all, and this time around was no different!

The Return of the Backpack Purse

This post contains affiliate links.

When I was in elementary school, say 3rd grade, a backpack purse was the must-have accessory.  I would fill mine full of Lisa Frank pens, glitter makeup, lip balm, and little toys. Well, late-80s babies, rejoice, because the backpack purse is back and it makes the perfect accessory for fall!

High Five for Friday 09.02.16 : Moontower Music Festival + Fun

TGIF, H54F-ers!!! Della at Della DevotedKatie at Cup of Tea, and myself want to welcome you to the High Five for Friday link-up and the weekend. We made it!

This week's featured blogger is Rema from Jewelry and Jeans, a style blog. She recently posted a boho dress that I loved (I wore a similar dress yesterday). And her post about beach coverups had some helpful suggestions. Love her style!

1. I was sent tickets for Moontower Music Festival (thanks, guys!), so Chauncey, Kane, and myself headed out there on Saturday with some friends. We had a blast! It was a very eclectic music set that I really enjoyed listening to. We also grabbed food from The Gastro Gnome food truck, Crank and Boom ice cream, and Steel City Pops popsicles while we were there. Kane had a great time dancing and playing with friends. I really loved how family-friendly the event was.
